Dr. Janna Legg
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Janna Legg spent much of her childhood around dairy cattle and show steers while growing up in Palm City, Florida—her family owned and operated a dairy farm, and she was active in the 4-H and the Future Farmers of America organizations for many years. Ever since she was a little girl, Dr. Legg knew that she wanted to do her part to better the lives of animals. Veterinary medicine was the obvious choice! She’s proud to now serve as an Associate Veterinarian here at Ocean Breeze Animal Hospital.
Dr. Legg attended the University of Florida for her undergraduate studies in animal science, also pursuing a specialty track in animal biology at the same time. After graduation, she took a job with a small-animal clinic in Gainesville, where she gained invaluable experience and was fortunate to receive expert mentorship that serves her well to this day. Next, Dr. Legg enrolled in the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in the spring of 2016 with her Doctorate and a certification in food animal medicine.
Dr. Legg relocated to San Marcos, Texas after her collegiate career, practicing on dogs, cats, and farm animals at a mixed-animal clinic there for two years, before returning to Florida in the summer of 2018 and joining the Ocean Breeze Animal Hospital family shortly afterward. She is a member of the Florida Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Christian Veterinary Mission, and the Treasure Coast Veterinary Medical Association.
When she isn’t helping pets and owners live better lives here at the hospital, Dr. Legg enjoys cheering on her favorite Florida Gators sports teams, getting lost in a good book, tending to her plants, making crafts for her Etsy shop, and spending quality time with family, friends, and her own pets at home. She shares her life with two wonderful Black Lab mixes: Brooks, who served as Dr. Legg’s stress-reliever during her veterinary school years, and the goofy Briggs, who joined Dr. Legg’s family during her time in Texas.
